Robert Burnes
FOUNDER
Special Agent Robert A. Burnes (RET) JD, MLS (Cherokee) founded The Grey Winds Project in order to continue his work of ending the endemic kidnapping of Native American women and continue his life-long service to the Indigenous Nations/Tribes/Clans of North America. Mr. Burnes has a B.S. in Aerospace Maintenance and Theories, a Master's in Legal Studies and a Doctorate in Law with more than 25 years of experience in the law fields. Mr. Burnes is a court certified expert in Constitutional Law, Drug Recognition and Evaluation, and Gang Organization/Enforcement. Mr. Burnes is also an accomplished author and artist and has published both fiction and non-fiction work.

Eilish Thompson
INTERN DIRECTOR
Eilish Thompson is a 2025 graduate of Western New England University School of Law juris doctorate program, a 2021 graduate of Johns Hopkins University Graduate School of Education masters in secondary education program, a 2018 graduate of Harvard University Extension School's undergraduate program, and a 2012 graduate of Asnuntuck Community College. Eilish joined the Grey Winds Project in Summer 2024 as the Intern Director.

ASHLEY YU
STUDENT LEADER
Ashley Yu is a current senior at Farmington High School, where she is actively involved with Mock Trial and FBLA. She aspires to pursue a future career in law and has been an intern with the Grey Winds Project since July 2024.
